Overview of Breast Cancer Risk Factors in Women
Abstract
Breast cancer is currently one of the most common types of cancer suffered by women with a very high prevalence in all countries in the world. This research aims to determine the risk factors that cause breast cancer in women. This research uses a descriptive method and the sampling technique in this research uses a total sampling technique. The study population was all patients in January – May 2023 who were diagnosed with breast cancer at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency. The results of the study showed that in breast cancer sufferers there was a risk from using injectable hormonal contraceptives for 40 people, 41 people aged > 40 years, 44 people at menarche < 15 years old, 38 people from passive smoking, and 14 people from genetic factors. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as a source of information in midwifery services, especially in providing information about hormonal contraceptives to pay attention to the risk of breast cancer.
