Pneumonia is a disease that affects the lungs, specifically the alveoli, caused by various microorganisms leading to symptoms such as shortness of breath and elevated body temperature. Pneumonia remains a major health issue among adults, with an estimated annual death toll of 1.4 million. This study aims to describe and understand emergency nursing care for pneumonia patients with ineffective airway clearance. The research methodology employed is descriptive research with a case study design using a nursing care approach comprising assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing interventions, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. Following nursing interventions and patient monitoring during hospitalization, the study found that patient 1 experienced reduced shortness of breath and decreased productive cough, although sputum persisted, while patient 2 continued to experience persistent shortness of breath and productive cough. The actions taken over three days concluded that the issue of ineffective airway clearance in both patients had not been resolved.
