Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a common condition globally. Although conventional treatment for hypertension usually utilizes medications, alternative therapies such as wet cupping are often used as a complementary approach. This case study evaluates the intervention of wet cupping therapy in hypertensive patients at GSI Cupping Clinic, Serang Regency. This study aimed to assess the effect of wet cupping therapy on hypertensive patients. The study involved participants with hypertension who underwent wet cupping therapy as an adjunctive treatment. The therapy procedure involves placing a glass cup on the skin with a small incision, creating a vacuum that draws blood to the surface of the skin. Participants received regular wet cupping therapy sessions during the study period. The results showed that wet cupping therapy had a positive effect on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients, with reports of a significant reduction in blood pressure. In addition, some participants reported improved sleep quality, reduced stress symptoms, and improved general well-being. It can be concluded that wet cupping therapy could have potential as a complementary approach in the management of hypertension.
