Hypertension is a condition with blood pressure above normal where systolic pressure >140 mmHg and diastolic pressure >90 mmHg, which can cause heart failure, stroke, and death. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for hypertension in the productive age group (15-64 years) in the Wonorejo Health Center working area, Samarinda City. The research design used was an analytic survey with a Case-Control design. The sample consisted of 964 respondents, with 482 cases and 482 controls, using secondary data from the Healthy Indonesia Ku (ASIK) application. The results showed that family history of hypertension was associated with the incidence of hypertension (OR=2.551; 95%CI= 1.947-3.343), while there was no significant relationship between physical activity (OR=1.457; 95%CI=0.822-2.583), salt consumption (OR=0.498; 95%CI=0.091-2.731), and smoking behavior (OR=1.000; 95%CI=0.593-1.686) with the incidence of hypertension. Raising public awareness about the importance of monitoring blood pressure and promoting a healthy lifestyle, including a better diet, increased physical activity, and avoiding smoking, is highly recommended to reduce the incidence of hypertension and its complications.
