Literature Study: Education on Anemia Prevention Behavior in Adolescent Girls

Anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level in the body is less than normal. Hemoglobin is a parameter used to determine the prevalence of anemia. In general, adolescent girls are susceptible to anemia due to inadequate nutritional intake, physical activity and menstruation. Normal Hb levels in adolescent girls are >12 g/dl. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia is 21.7%. Purpose: To determine efforts to prevent anemia in adolescent girls. Method: This research uses a literature review with the Prisma method as data collection by searching for journals or articles via Scopus and Google Scholar. With the keywords: "Adolescent anemia education" and "Adolescent anemia prevention". 10 main journals were used for study and analysis. Results: Programs that can be carried out as an effort to prevent anemia in adolescent girls are: Development of health and nutrition education strategies, Policies to end early marriage, Strengthening integrated programs with various sectors, Early detection of anemia with counseling, Hb examination and improving attitudes and behavior, use of methods in provide education to young women so that it is easy to understand. Conclusion: Efforts to prevent anemia in adolescent girls really need to be done early, because the impacts are very complicated if not treated. Providing anemia prevention education to adolescent girls is very important in efforts to increase knowledge which can influence adolescent attitudes and behavior. This research can be used as reference material for further research.
