The Relationship between Physical Conditions of the House and Healthy Living Behavior on the Recovery of Tuberculosis Patients
Keywords:

Tuberculosis is a serious health problem in Indonesia with the second highest incidence rate in the world. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the physical condition of the house and clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) on the recovery of tuberculosis (TB) patients in 2023. The method used was observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach, involving 59 respondents diagnosed with BTA (+) TB. Data were collected through interviews and observations and then analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that out of 59 respondents, 30 (50.8%) had recovered from TB. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between PHBS and patient recovery (P value = 0.003), with an odds ratio (OR) of 6.243, meaning that tuberculosis patients who apply PHBS have a six times greater chance of recovery than those who do not apply PHBS. The humidity, temperature, occupancy density, and ventilation factors also influenced the recovery status. The study emphasizes the importance of improving the house's physical condition and PHBS to enhance the recovery of TB patients.
